Product Overview
The Thumb Screw M6 x 28.5 Stainless Steel - Machined is a thumb screw which is a mechanical fastener. It has a head with straight knurling machined along the sides. It is screwed or unscrewed with hands without any need of external tools like screw driver. The knurling on the head provides a good grip. It is used where access is easy. It is used in the modules of an anesthesia delivery system such as Anesthetic Gas Scavenging System (AGSS). It is provided in both the active and adjustable systems of the Breathing Gas Circuit (BCG). Excess fresh gas released from the bellows and the ventilator driven gases are transferred from the exhalation valve to the AGSS module. The screw is made of stainless steel which is highly corrosion resistant such that it performs efficiently in corrosive environment and also resists the scaling at elevated temperatures. Hence it is considered safer to use in medical equipment. The high strength and hardness properties make it resistant to any external damage, thus improving its life span and making it more reliable. The passivation removes free iron from the surface, making the screw rust-resistant.
